Wedding Traditions: A year in the making!

Image
There are a few wedding traditions we failed to do, but I am happy to say we completed one! One tradition says the way you feed the cake represents a  symbol of the bride and groom's willingness to share a household.  Another says  the cutting of the cake together will insure fertility . - Glad we did that! ;) Before we cut the cake at our reception I told Mike "if you get cake on my dress or mess up my make up I will kill you and you will not be going to Cancun with me on our honeymoon." A little harsh? Yes I know, it worked though! He was a gentleman! I wasn't worried about the myths I was just concerned about my dress :)  Our beautiful cake! Cutting it together!  1 Year Traditions From this link we actually completed most on the list! GO US! We were on our second honeymoon in NYC which means we weren't able to eat the top tier of our cake. Plus it was in my parents freezer. We got it when we got back and it has been in our fridge ...

The Reception!

~The Reception~ Thank you all for coming! I cannot believe all the love and support we have had. I heard the line went all the way out to the parking lot. For that I am sorry, but it really does make me so happy to have had so many people there. I hoped you guys liked the sign in book with our cute engagements. I liked our video of us growing up! I hope you all got to watch that! I heard the food was so good Matt came and gave me shrimp in line once, but that’s all that I got to try sadly. I did sneak an Italian Soda right before the line started. If you know me then you know I love Italian sodas! I had to have certain things in my wedding like that such as: The Black Roses. I love black and the floating black roses in the vases and floating candles on top turned out amazing! And the Italian Sodas. I had to have to puffy dresses with pickups and Diamonds. I had to have a beautiful cake and we did I pick it out my self and I think it’s the best wedding cake I’ve ever seen! I would not ...

The Luncheon

Mike and I went and took pictures while everyone was getting seated because it stopped pouring for a minute. The pictures of us out side on the pedestal right in front of the temple. These pictures turned out amazing! Then we went to the luncheon. The food was really good. Matt and Aunt Jara sang the most beautiful duet. Then everyone got to tell something about Mike and me. It was so embarrassing the stories that people remembered about me. Mike had all the sweet nice stores, but no my family and friends had to make fun of me and my blondness. It was a really fun luncheon I cried like a baby when I had to talk about Mike and how much I love him. He is my best friend. Sorry that’s just one thing I said you would have had to be there it’s to personnel. Then he gave his speech and it was amazing. I cried like a little girl. There is an ongoing joke about how we knew each other and right then and there in his speech he brings this up. He said “When we first met we both could have sworn we...

Coming Out Of The Temple!!

~The Wedding Day~ I woke up around four thirty and Tillie came over and did my hair and makeup. Mike came and picked up and we drove to Salt Lake City. It’s my favorite Temple. We got married so amazing and so spiritual and so worth it! Mike’s grandpa sealed us. I loved having all of my family there! I am so happy to be sealed to him forever. We came out of the Temple and got drenched. It was pouring! My friends and family were all there being troopers and getting soaked! I love our pictures everyone has umbrellas and are so wet. We hurried and took a big group shot then got everyone inside the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. We took a lot of beautiful pictures with everyone in the JSM building. I was so lucky that Tillie was there to fix my hair and she did an amazing job. So the pictures actually turned out really great! Then went to the luncheon it was in the Wasatch room in the JSM building.

So I've decided to make my blog like a journal. I want me and Mike and our kids and grandkids to look back at our blog and see what our love and lives are all about. ~The Bridal shower and bachelorette party~ The bridal shower was at my mother in-laws house (Suzanne Hall). It was a ton of fun. I got to meet lots of new family and friends and got lots of fun presents! The Fruit tray and all the goodies I ate were just wonderful yum! I am so lucky to be a Hall. Thank you my new mom for all your love and support. The bachelorette party was also so much fun. St. George Bridals

I know that there are a lot! Every picture has been taken in 3 colors. Color, Black and White and Sepia. I went through and picked out my favorites. Enjoy! TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK AND BE HONEST!! Soon to come: Our Engagements! Also this is Errin's work (http://errinandrusphotography.blogspot.com/) from St. George she took my red rock bridals. Sam and Aubrey (http://www.everylittlemomentphotography.com/) are taking everything else plus more bridals, but with Mike so we can have more pictures together all dressed up. Those won't be taken for a while though, because I want lots of colorful flowers for those. The first group of pictures are my absolute fav! Well they all are, but I really liked these the most after those they are in no particular order. If you want to see them bigger just click on the slide show and it will take you to the actual site. One last think Yes my bouquet is made up of black roses :) and I love it call me crazy!

IN HIS WORDS

Engaged! Yes, yes indeed. You heard correct. Yes that’s right. Yep, I’m engaged. I know I know, you thought it would never happen. You all said that I would never find someone that could handle the many mysterious ways of Mike but wait wait wait wait! I haver! Yes that’s right. I’m finally engaged to Nikki Parry. My best friend and true love. Now sit back, relax, but keep your eyes open and enjoy the story… Think of Aladdin… “It begins on a dark night! Where a dark man waits… with a dark purpose…” Okay okay so there isn’t a dark man or a dark purpose but there is a dark night. Nikki and I had been planning on going up to see the lights at Temple Square in Salt Lake for a few weeks now (clever planning on my part, thank you mucho mucho). So I have her convinced that we will go up to Temple Square, enjoy the lights and celebrate the fact that school is over for the semester. So, sure enough we make our way up and everything is going well. I have talked to her father, went extremely we...

December 17th 2008

I want you try to explain so you understand exactly how I felt when I realized I had just gotten the biggest surprise of my life! I was in so much shock. It’s all I can think about. I will be doing my hair or driving in my car or writing a paper and then I realized there's something on my hand and I start to cry. I have never felt this kind of love before. I know it’s a worldly thing, but then I think about the hard work he put in it to get it. The symbol that it is. I am so in love with him. And now for how it happened. A few weeks prior we talked about going to see the lights up at temple square. We decided to celebrate finals being over and to go then and see them and have a nice date. I then realized that mike had no money and I didn't want him to spend his money on anything else. So I said mike we cannot go. I want a ring and I want you to save your money so I don't have to wait to February. He had me convinced that I would have to wait till then. We started the drive ...
