Fast Sunday
I just want all of you to know weather you know me or don't that I have a testimony of the power of the priesthood. I am a member of the only true church. I am very thankful for my lord and savior Jesus Christ. I know that I have an eternal family. I know the prophet and the Apostles and church leader received modern inspiration every day for me and for you. I am Eternally Grateful to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know the book of Mormon is true. I know the temple is where my answers lye. Most of all I am so grateful for my husband and the example he is to me and that his a priesthood holder.
I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
I love fast Sundays! I love that I get to fast for something and the power that it has. I love the testimonies I get to hear in Relief Society and in Sacrament.
Lately I have been thinking a lot about the power of the priesthood.
Short Story Time
About 6 months ago we went on a cruise. I got a really bad migraine and my jaw was hurting. I was in a lot of pain. My husband gave me a blessing and immediately the pain went away. I was still tender, but I was able to enjoy the vacation.
Medium Story
Last week I was very very sick. My tonsils were swollen 2x the normal size. It felt like a thousand needles stabbing my throat when I talked. There was one day were I was not doing well. I felt very suck to my stomach and dizzy I went in to the kitchen to get a drink of water and then my hands went numb. I knew I was going to faint. I laid down right there on the kitchen floor. About 5 minutes later Mike came home early! He came it and saw me on the floor and freaked out he was worried. He helped me to the chair and gave me a blessing. I didn't immediately feel better like before in my last story, but the numbness and the upset stomach went away.
I am so grateful that I have a husband that is a worthy priesthood holder and that is able to give me a blessing.
Long Story
I wanted to share this very personnel story because it has been on my mind a lot lately. I cry every time I talk about it which isn't often because I hold it so close to me. I want to share it because I want you to grow from this and strive to be a worth priesthood holder and if you are then keep it that way.
3 Years ago July 24th 2006 I got in a horrific car accident. I rolled my truck 5 times and got ejected 90ft. My parents were just a few minutes away from the accident and so they were able to come out to the scene. The EMT and Firefighters had me in the ambulance. They told my parents that they were going to have 10 seconds when they move my from the ambulance to life flight at this point they didn't know if this was the last time I would be alive. My mom said she didn't know what to say except that she loves me. My dad tool the vial from his key chain and gave me a blessing. They didn't know if I was going to live or die. They didn't know what kind of internal bleeding or the extent of my injuries at this point.
I am non almost fully recovered. Yeah I have 8 fake teeth and lots of plates and screws in my body, but I am alive. My back causes me a lot of pain when I workout, but that's okay. I'm Alive!
I don't remember much of my accident so this story has been told to me, but I know that I wouldn't not be as recovered if it was for the prayers and that one special blessing with that very special oil.
I always talk about the physical side of the accident because the spiritual side is extremely emotional and close to me. I love you all thanks for reading!
My husband read this today and wanted me to explain to you that are not members that read my blog what exactly I am talking about.
The men in our church can receive the Aaronic priesthood at the age of 12. This is where they can preform specific duties they are called a Decon.
Next is when you turn 16 and you receive the Melchizedek priesthood. You gain more duties.
We give blessings for different things. In my post I talk about the healing of the sick, because all three times I was very very sick and hurt.
Every first Sunday of the month we have what is called Fast and Testimony meeting. On this day you fast for people or things or answers. You also have the opertunity to bear your testimony and hear others.
